Our First Letter!

We got our first letter today! I think as a mom I handled it correctly. I think you are supposed to yell in the driveway "WE GOT A LETTER!" Then I think you are all supposed to huddle in the garage BEFORE even going into the house. Then you are to read the letter out loud. After that the mom is supposed to go into the house and jump up and down yelling "We got a letter!" "We got a letter!" So I think I got it down pat.. the rules of being a missionary mom!!! Anyway here is the first letter!

Dear la familiga,
It is day two in spirit prison (that's what everyone calls it). The food so far is ok. But you are to avoid several items as they cause unpleasant things. I am still alive and Wednesdays are my p-day but I got ahead of my schedule and so I I'll write to you all. Yesterday my host was a tongan kid from Utah who knows a ton of Niu's even knows a Tevita Niu in West Valley. I miss everyone already and can't wait till I'm in Italy. I guess a couple weeks ago if you had to learn a language you were here for ten weeks now its nine weeks but since the nine week group is doing really well I am only here for 8 weeks. Yay! Haven't had time to really take any pictures. My companion is a pretty big dude who follows me and copys everything I do. My roommates are cool I like them. One is from Draper and graduated at Alta a year before me. I didn't really know him but had seen him around . His name is Anziano Eckoholdt (something like that). didn't get much sleep cause I wasn't tired at all. But yes I did wake up at 6:30 AM. It's a shocker. You get shoved into your language class the first day and every day from then on. Small group only about 10 people in the class but about 30+ people going to Italy. Your in the classroom for 4-5 hrs learning and me brain dead after...That's all for now more to come soon.
Con affetto,
Anziano Mitchell
