Ciao tutti!!
Here is what you all have probably been waiting for! A great big miracle well this week we did alot alot of finding work!
What a great miracle huh!!!?!?!?!?!
No scherzo comunque, eravamo alla stazione giovedi...actually i will tell you in english what happend that way you can understand! so we were at the station on thursday of last week just right after last p day (obviously) and we were waiting for our train and this little peruvian lady came up to us and asked "mormone?" we said "si, siamo noi" (thats us) and she had a great look of relief come over here. We got talking for a little bit and she was baptized in Peru about 1 year ago and moved here to Italy about 3 months ago and has been trying to find the church ever since. She spoke very little Italian Very little Italian luckily my comp speaks Spanish as well so he spoke with her and got her story all situated and figured out, we got her phone number then her Peruvian friend came over and she has been here in Italy for some time and speaks Italian fine and she is not a member but she is helping out the member lady so we talk for a little bit get both of their numbers and find out they live right here in Legnano! Great! Then our train came so we had to bail.
We give them a call on Saturday and tell them to meet us at the station so we can guide them to the church and show them were it is. They both came to church and Jennifer brought one of her kids. She has 4 kids and she said they would all come to church next week. They both really enjoyed church and getting to know all the members.
We met with them both yesterday at the park anyways we got talking she had all the elect person questions and really absorbed all the information we gave her. We invited her to be baptized on the 21 of April and she said Yes! As long as she knows/feels that this is the true church! AWESOME!!! Well I know you are all very happy to finally see that miracles like this do happen here in Italy! She will be baptized and the great thing is this transfer ends on April 28! So that would be great if we could baptize that day while I am still here!
Next thing! Well the other night we were walking around talking with some people on the street and this guy stops us and we talk with him and all this stuff anyways got it all fixed to where he understood we aren’t Amish which happens a lot! Anyways he shook my hand and stared me in the eyes and said "you have a sister, protect her". Well meg you best just make sure your going to church!!!!! and CTR! Haha!
Then there are countless stories with this member named Dennis ohhh man he is from Ghana and is honestly the funniest guy ever!!!! I will get a picture with him before i leave thats for sure. Well we went to his house last night to eat and he fed us some rice and some stew. But just loads us up on food and we had a big lunch and weren’t very hungry, but he piles the food on. Then we eat it all. He goes in the kitchen and brings out some potatoes and beef stuff, which was very good but dang, more food and he loads that up on our plates. So we eat that and we both feel just sick to our stomachs i never have eaten so much food in my life we both wanted to throw up. Then he goes and gets fruitcake bread and some other dessert and loads that up. And we both know we can’t eat it. Then his wife looks at us and says, "oh i am trying to lose weight but with company here i have to eat it all" so we knew that we had to eat it all and they both knew we were full. But we ate it all. Then she gets the remaining dessert in the bowl and puts that on our plates as well. I gained several pounds!
Speaking of pounds and food! I can no longer accept any packages that have American food items in them. Not because i don’t like them but just because (this is where you edit the email) they give me some serious culture shock we will say! So thank you sooo very much for the packages and yes I received one from grandma and mother and chels but from now on nooo nooo American food, i can not eat it my stomach gets sick even just a little pop tart turns into a giant poop tart! But thank you so very much i was very excited to eat it all but it makes me sick! However thank you grandma for the cereal i know i can always count on my grandma for some cereal that doesn’t make me sick but lets just say i got enough for the rest of the mission time.
In fact you should zoom in on my face in the picture of me standing up at the golf course WOW SOMEONE HAS GAINED SOME WEIGHT! i just noticed that the other day and i was like ohhhh snap...ya know i have only gone jogging one time but i think im gonna need to go every morning to work off that fat!!!!
tell everyone i say ciao ill make sure to tell the new bishop that you should give a talk to the new ward
I’m sure as always that there are some other things to say...well obviously but i cant fit it all in over email.
